Just to clarify: The game crashes while loading AFTER I start the new campaign and the cinematic with the carriage plays.

Also just to let you know – I have tried everything from the “Master List of Darkest Dungeon Fixes” thread on Steam and none of the solutions worked.

Are you russian? Perhaps this is problem in local version of location name?

Czech Subtitles doesnt work

Hello,

Czech subtitles doesnt work. Everytime when storyteller start talking(or in game cinematic intro) I can see source of subtitles like <vo_str_house_……>(blue colour), etc., but I dont see text, sentences. Czech language in UI and in game is great, just subtitles is doenst appear.

What do you mean? steamapps\common is where all my steam games are located.

P.S. yes, I am Russian, but I am playing just a regular English version of the game.

Oh so this is better than selling them via shift-click. Interesting.

Personally I’d much prefer the provision inventory to remain when you backed out. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve provisioned up, realized I forgot to train someone in the Guild or upgrade their armor in the Blacksmith, and then had to re-provision for apparently no good reason.

Or at least no good reason until now – that your characters come with free items. That you can apparently turn into money generators by just going into and back out of the provisioning screen :)

Near unbeatable bosses due to turn skipping

So i’m unsure if this is a bug related to the speed stat or something hard coded for sake of difficulty increase. During a lvl 3 Prophet fight, there were multiple occasions of my character’s turns being passed over or skipped entirely. This was without being stunned or afflicted. I know the speed stat affects the order in which characters take actions, but ONLY in the boss fight, character actions are skipped. For example, prophet takes three actions and only my crusader out of all four characters is allowed to take a move, where upon the prophet takes two actions, putting my occultist and bounty hunter to deaths door. I take one go with my occultist and the prophet kills him and the bounty hunter, blights my hellion then kills her with a stress spell. Needless to say that resulted in a full party wipe because I was unable to effectively use all my characters.
All the other mechanics were fine, fair and challenging, but this breaks the game and makes key bosses unbeatable. Note that this is primarily an issue with mid and high level bosses, although lower level bosses can perform this action also.


Persisting critical buff from "skill" bug

Hello there, folks!

First, let me say that I’m adoring the game and am thrilled for the full release. However, I’d like to point out what I think may be a bug that may not have yet been identified. Some of my heroes will have a bonus to their crit modifiers from a “skill” source when there is no indication of them currently having said buff nor anyone currently on my team able to apply the buff. I’m assuming the buff is from being carried over from being previously applied by someone like a Jester but it obviously has lasted much longer than it was supposed to. This bonus has only been observable once a mission has already been started and will sometimes change in value at different times. This isn’t exactly a huge or game breaking issue, but I thought I may as well share it.

Can't load my campaign HELP!

I was playing the game and due to an electrical problem my pc turned off. Now when I try to load the campaign this error appears:

“Assert Failed:
(mash_entry_index<mashEntries.size())
MashGuide::GetMashEntryResultByTypeIndex in mash_guide.cpp line 150
Couldn’t find mesh entry index 2 in eMashType 2

ESC to skip”

And then when I press ESC

It shows:

“MonsterClass: is dependent on invalid monster class
Either captor_empty, captor_full summon

MonsterClass: is dependent on invalid monster class
Either captor_empty, captor_full summon”

And then darkest.exe crashes.

I tried reinstalling the game but the issue remains.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you haven’t already, download today’s update. It completely fixed the graphical stutters that I was having!

1. Delete game in steam library
2. Delete resent files in …\Steam\steamapps\common\DarkestDungeon
3. Delete or move folder Darkest in Documents
4. Run the game

Still there are errors in messages (critical hits messages and others) and debug options show in english. I’m doing a list with errors in language (typos and errors). There is an utility for traslate texts?

Can we get this bug fixed ASAP?

It’s known(for at least a month) bug of critical game mechanics.
65+ damage critical smackdowns from stun immune giants are not very funny after a while.

keyboard input causes game lag

The title says it. The game runs perfectly smooth at 144 fps all the time, until you decide to do anything on the keyboard. Any click, in hamlet or in dungeon causes the game to stutter, holding it causes fps drop to single digit. Normally game consumes 25% cpu, but at the moment of input this number actually drops as well. This bug hasn’t happened in the early versions of the game. Any ideas?


[Bug] Character stuck at 100 stress. Is there dev console in this game?

It appears that one of my characters is permamently stuck with 100 stress no matter how amny times I leave him to rest.
Additionally, as he is only able to rest by drinking, every time I leave him to drink with a trinket he loses it.

Is there any manual way to overwrite his stress so I could send him out and see if it fixes it? Like a developer command to set stress?

Holy crap, man! It worked! Thanks so much! Deleting DarkestDungeon from steamapps/common did the trick! I can’t thank you enough!

Is the Goal "…First Foray into the Ruins" required for game completion?

I’ve played during the Early Access Phase and had a good amount of the Goals completed at the time but still have to assault the Darkest Dungeon.
Does anyone know if the game is programmed to require all Caretaker Goals to be completed to win the game? That Goal was added in the final release. I really don’t want to restart after investing time into my lineup (X_X)

No. Completing all the caretaker goals is optional. You beat the game by finishing the Darkest Dungeon.

Lost loot after abandoning quest?

I thought you were at least paid out the looted item you found during a quest.
I had lost my lvl 6 plague doctor during a Red Quest in the Ruins. I didn’t get a pay out screen and it just went straight to the Level Up/Quirks/Death screen. I had 2 Puzzling Trapezohedron from a secret room; upon returning to the Hamlet I didn’t see an increase in gold.

Is this is what’s supposed to happen? I know you have to clear the room if you wanted your dead hero’s item back; but does this also apply to loot somehow?
